Obilet, which revealed travel trends for 2023, shared the most searched routes, domestic and international travel trends, and the cheapest and highest ticket prices.

DOMESTIC BUS TRAVEL

The most searched routes for bus travel are Istanbul-Ankara.

There was a significant increase in the Istanbul-Hatay and Ankara-Hatay routes due to the earthquake disaster.

INTERNATIONAL BUS TRAVEL

The highest number of international bus ticket searches from Turkey were concentrated on the Istanbul-Sofia, Istanbul-Thessaloniki, and Istanbul-Batumi routes.

Among intercity routes outside of Turkey, Sofia-Varna, Madrid-Barcelona, and Batumi-Tbilisi were the most searched routes.

TICKET PRICES

While domestic bus tickets ranged from 10 TL to 1,700 TL, international bus tickets ranged from 130 TL to 7,500 TL.

MOST SEARCHED FLIGHTS

Istanbul-Izmir stood out in domestic flights.

In international flights, flights from Adana, Istanbul, and Ankara to Nicosia (TRNC) are among the most searched routes.

The highest increases in searches were seen in the Diyarbakır-Bursa route domestically and the Ashgabat-Istanbul route internationally.

VISA-FREE COUNTRIES

Interest in visa-free destinations for international flight tickets increased; Nicosia, Baku, Batumi, Tehran, Belgrade, and Bangkok stood out.

PRICES

While domestic flight tickets ranged from 193 TL to 6,099 TL, international flight tickets ranged from 277 TL to 140,066 TL.

PEAK SALES PERIOD

June, when the summer holiday and Eid al-Adha coincided, was the period with the highest volume of online bus ticket sales.

May stood out as the month with the highest online sales for domestic flights, while June was the peak for international flights.

HIGHLIGHTED DAYS

Excluding the impact of the earthquake, the days with the highest ticket sales were June 23 for bus travel, May 15 for domestic flights, and June 7 for international flights.

EARTHQUAKE IMPACT

Due to the earthquake disaster on February 6, there was a significant increase in bus ticket searches for the Istanbul-Hatay and Ankara-Hatay routes.
