A change in leadership is taking place at Socrates, which has been in publication since April 2015. Can Öz, the owner of Socrates magazine, announced in a statement on his social media account that Övünç Özdem has been appointed as the Editorial Director of Socrates Studio.
Making the announcement on the X platform, Öz wrote the following:
"Socrates Studio Editorial Director Uğur Ozan Sulak is handing over his duties to Övünç Özdem as of August 1. I would like to extend a special thank you to Uğur Ozan for taking on this role during a difficult year and wish him success in his new endeavors. Övünç Özdem's tenure officially begins today; I wish him the best of luck."
WHO IS ÖVÜNÇ ÖZDEM
Journalist and sports reporter Övünç Özdem began his career at NTV Spor and served as a successful part of the channel for many years. Özdem stood out as a figure who closely followed the sports agenda, particularly through his social media accounts, and shared real-time updates on teams' pre- and post-match situations, lineups, and statements.
During his time at NTV Spor, he accompanied teams on their domestic and international matches, carefully reporting on both on-field and off-field events to viewers. Following the closure of the channel, he continued to work actively at NTV. Özdem also produced news for the NTV Spor website and hosted programs on the NTV Spor YouTube channel.
Özdem left NTV in February to join Socrates Magazine.
