They had been 'dissing' each other on stage for years: Sagopa Kajmer and Fuat Ergin trade insults on social media

Sagopa Kajmer and Fuat Ergin, two of the most prominent names in Turkish rap, have traded insults on social media. For years, the duo had responded to each other through 'diss' tracks—verbal sparring in rap jargon—both on television programs and on stage.

Appearing on the 'S.O.B.A Podcast' hosted by Ali Biçim and Mesut Can Tomay on YouTube, Fuat Ergin was asked, "Would it be rude if I called you one of the 'Big 3' of rap? Would you start singing '2 Pushta' all of a sudden?" Referring to Ceza and Sagopa Kajmer, he replied, "No, I would never start singing it, but their greatest luck in life is being compared to me."

"DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF TO ME AND CEZA"

Upon hearing these words, Sagopa Kajmer shared the music video for Fuat Ergin's song 'Rast Gel Kazara' on his X account, accompanied by profanity.

In his post, Sagopa Kajmer stated, "Do not compare yourself to me and @ceza_ed, that's number 1. Do not write lyrics by flipping through Ottoman dictionaries, that's number 2. Also, you never bought me a microphone or a music program, that's number 3. And listen to this f...ing song of yours," he said.

"YOU LEARNED EVERYTHING YOU KNOW FROM ME"

Fuat Ergin responded to Kajmer on his own social media account with profanity as well.

In his post, Ergin wrote, "F... your career that licked the balls of your cult. Don't try to save your a.. by throwing the words that should be said to you at me; you are the dictionary and music thief. I haven't even mentioned you calling me to play your songs. You learned everything you know from me. I was the one who did the first melismas. Poor copy," he stated.

'DISS' CRISIS IN TURKISH RAP

For a long time, the duo had engaged in verbal disputes through the method known as 'diss' on stage, and later, as Turkish Rap gained a wider presence in society, on television programs.
