Traffic density in Istanbul drops to 1 percent during iftar hours

Traffic density in Istanbul dropped to 1 percent at iftar time, providing drivers with a comfortable journey.

According to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's traffic density map, congestion fell to the 1 percent level during iftar hours. With the decrease in the number of vehicles, drivers found the opportunity to have a more comfortable commute. Officials stated that this situation stems from the public's tendency to stay at home or in their immediate vicinity during iftar hours. On the other hand, it was noted that there would be a gradual increase in traffic in the hours following iftar, particularly due to those heading to mosques for Tarawih prayers.
