Türkan Şoray: 'Cinema gave me a diploma, my audience gave me a diploma'

Famous actress Türkan Şoray met with her fans in Bursa at the festival organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. During the talk held at the Tayyare Cultural Center, Şoray expressed her happiness at being in Bursa.
Explaining that she was excited to meet her fans, Şoray mentioned that they had filmed many movies in Uludağ.
Offering advice to young people, Şoray recommended that they read books and focus on self-improvement.
Explaining that she always felt incomplete because she could not complete her education, Şoray stated the following:
"Cinema gave me a diploma. My audience gave me a diploma. You might ask, 'Why didn't you complete your education?' I was going to school and I loved school and my teachers very much; they loved me very much too. I wasn't a very hardworking student; I was living with my elderly grandfather and grandmother. My mother and father had separated. I was studying my lessons on my own, but my grades were very good. One day, while I was going to school, the daughter of our landlord at the house where my mother was staying was a filmmaker, and when the offer came from there, my education was cut short."
Stating that she has become insatiable, Şoray said, "I want to read all the books in the world. I want to learn 10 languages. I want to play the piano. And after that, I want to fall in love."
In the remainder of the talk, the artist provided details about her cinematic life. At the end of the event, the master actress took souvenir photos with her fans.
