Türkan Şoray: May wars end in the world

Attending the 3rd Bozok Film Festival held in Yozgat, Türkan Şoray, one of the most important names in Turkish cinema known by the nickname "Sultan," responded to a question regarding Israel's attacks on Gaza by saying, "I want wars in the world to end."

The 3rd Bozok Film Festival, held between October 8-10 with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's General Directorate of Cinema and in partnership with the Yozgat Governorship, Yozgat Municipality, and Bozok University, has concluded. The guest of honor at the festival, which brought film screenings, interviews with famous directors and actors, and workshops to cinema enthusiasts, was the "Sultan of Turkish Cinema," Türkan Şoray.

In an interview moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rifat Becerikli, a faculty member at the Bozok University Faculty of Communication and coordinator of the Bozok Film Festival, the famous Yeşilçam artist Türkan Şoray shared her life, cinema journey, films, career, and success stories with her fans.

Expressing her excitement at meeting her fans at the closing ceremony of the 3rd Bozok Film Festival, hosted by Yozgat Bozok University, Türkan Şoray provided art enthusiasts with an unforgettable day.

Speaking after the interview, the famous artist Şoray stated that she was happy to be with university students within the scope of the festival, noted that the festival provides an opportunity for young people to reveal their talents, and thanked everyone who contributed to the festival. Responding to a question about Israel's attacks on Gaza, Şoray said, "I want wars in the world to end."

The festival, held at the Erdoğan Akdağ Congress and Culture Center, was attended by Yozgat Governor Mehmet Ali Özkan, Deputy Mayor of Yozgat Talip Karslıoğlu, Rector of Bozok University Prof. Dr. Evren Yaşar, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Senior Colonel Cezmi Yalınkılıç, as well as actors, producers, and directors who came to the city, representatives of non-governmental organizations, and numerous citizens and students.

At the ceremony, flowers and gifts were presented to the legendary Yeşilçam actress Türkan Şoray, who has made unique contributions to Turkish cinema, by Yozgat Governor Mehmet Ali Özkan, Deputy Mayor of Yozgat Talip Karslıoğlu, and Rector of Bozok University Prof. Dr. Evren Yaşar.
