Turkey surpasses world average in social media usage: The most used application has been revealed

According to data announced by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, weekly social media usage in Turkey has risen to 25 hours and 4 minutes, while total online media time has reached 41 hours and 37 minutes. The most time is spent on Instagram.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu has shared current data regarding social media usage times with the public. Citing the 'We Are Social 2026' report, Uraloğlu stated that while global weekly social media usage is 18 hours and 36 minutes, this duration has reached 25 hours and 4 minutes in Turkey.

Minister Uraloğlu also emphasized that a similar trend exists in online media usage, noting that the weekly duration worldwide is 33 hours and 27 minutes, while it has risen to 41 hours and 37 minutes in Turkey.

TURKEY EXCEEDS WORLD AVERAGE

The shared data revealed that the time spent on digital platforms in Turkey is significantly above the global average. It was observed that Turkey is among the notable countries, especially in social media usage.

PLATFORM-BASED USAGE TIMES

Touching upon the details of social media usage, Uraloğlu announced the average daily times according to platforms.

"Weekly social media usage time in Turkey has risen to 25 hours and 4 minutes. While the average daily usage time on Instagram reaches 1 hour and 53 minutes, it stands at 1 hour and 28 minutes on YouTube, and 1 hour and 25 minutes on TikTok."
