Actor Ufuk Özkan has crossed the most critical threshold in the illness he has been battling for some time. The actor, who was receiving treatment for a diagnosis of liver failure, was entrusted to the experienced surgeons of the Medipol Mega University Hospital Organ Transplant Department. The expert team led by Prof. Dr. Murat Dayangaç, Prof. Dr. Onur Yaprak, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cenk Şimşek made statements regarding the artist's health status following the operation.
Stating that the operation went successfully and smoothly as planned, Prof. Dr. Onur Yaprak said, "We performed the surgery that Turkey was eagerly awaiting today. We did not encounter any unexpected complications during the surgery.
Our patient will spend tonight in intensive care. We will attempt the waking phase tomorrow. If everything goes well, we plan to extubate him tomorrow with high probability. Under normal conditions, the stay in intensive care is 1 or 2 days. The hospital stay usually varies between 2 and 3 weeks," he stated.
Emphasizing that they have been closely following Ufuk Özkan's health process for about three years, Prof. Dr. Yaprak said, "During this process, we felt closely how much he is loved, thanks to the messages that reached both us and his family. We thank all his loved ones who were with us with their prayers during the surgery process. We carried out this process by feeling their prayers very close to us. It is good that they exist. May his loved ones rejoice," he said.
SURGERY LASTED 11 HOURS
Prof. Dr. Murat Dayangaç said, "Together with our entire surgical team, we successfully performed both the donor and recipient surgeries. It was a difficult surgery. It was a tiring operation that lasted approximately 10-11 hours. It was a surgery that we expected to take a long time, including the anesthesia process and surgical stages, because our patient had previously undergone surgical procedures. However, we completed the entire process extremely successfully and we are very happy with the result."
Stating that they performed the surgery successfully, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cenk Şimşek said, "We are now taking our patient to intensive care. We will continue to monitor him closely in the coming period. There are no negative developments at the moment," he stated.
