Ufuk Özkan to undergo 11-hour liver transplant surgery: Emotional statement from his social media account

Actor Ufuk Özkan, who has been under treatment for some time due to liver failure, announced in a message shared on his social media account that he will be taken into liver transplant surgery today. In his statement, Özkan conveyed his gratitude to both the medical team and his loved ones and followers who have supported him.

Özkan included the following statements in his post:

"Hello,

First of all, I celebrate the holy night (kandil) of the entire Islamic world with my most heartfelt feelings and wish for this blessed night to lead to good outcomes.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to my esteemed colleagues, my audience, and everyone who has supported me with their prayers since the first day of my illness.

I have reached the end of this process that we have walked together. Hopefully, tomorrow I will undergo my liver transplant surgery, which will last approximately 11 hours. I have no fear; I am ready, patient, and hopeful.

And this process has gained me another brother; Salih is no longer just a companion on this journey, he is a piece of my soul — he is my own brother.

I would like to sincerely thank my brothers Umut Özkan and Alper Özkan, who have been among the most valuable supporters on this path. They were my voice during this process.

I would especially like to thank the very esteemed Prof. Dr. Onur Yaprak, Prof. Dr. Murat Dayangaç, and Organ Transplant Coordinator Dr. Esin Gülkaya Anık, who contributed to this long process. I am grateful to my nurse siblings, assistant doctors, interns, and all healthcare workers who changed my IVs while I slept, never left my side for a moment, and never compromised on their kindness.

I also remember Sibel with love, who turned a blind eye to my little indulgences during this process and boosted my morale with her cooking.

Furthermore, I consider it a duty to thank Ms. Sevim Emre, Ms. Elif, and Mr. Orhan Gencebay for their support and presence by my side.

And I offer my greatest thanks to our former Minister of Health, Mr. Fahrettin Koca, for the interest, support, and hospitality he has shown; I want to express my gratitude to him as a debt.
