'Understanding Atatürk' concert held under the direction of Cihat Aşkın

The concert titled "Understanding Atatürk," which aims to explain and understand Mustafa Kemal Atatürk through music in the 100th year of our Republic, took place at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center in İzmir under the direction of Cihat Aşkın.

The "Understanding Atatürk" themed concert, which covers the music reform Atatürk carried out in the early years of the Republic, his love for music, and the goals he set for the country, featured rearranged works by both Turkish and foreign composers.

In the concert, Cihat Aşkın on violin and Cana Gürmen on piano performed pieces such as "Bülbülüm Altın Kafeste," "Sarı Zeybek," "Özleyiş," and "Hasretinle Yandı Gönlüm," as well as compositions by immortal names such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ulvi Cemal Erkin.

Aşkın, who also served as the narrator during the concert, stated, "While the War of Independence was ongoing, Atatürk took very important steps not only to establish a new country but also to ensure the cultural development of society."
