US rapper Diddy detained on sexual assault charges
American actor, producer, and rapper Sean Combs, known as "Diddy," who faces sexual assault allegations, has been taken into custody.

Damian Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that Combs had been detained. Williams stated that the indictment prepared against Combs would remain sealed for now and that details regarding the case would be disclosed later.
Combs's attorney, Marc Agnifilo, noted that his client is cooperating and "is innocent," adding that the public should wait for all the facts to emerge.
Combs's former girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, filed a lawsuit against him in November 2023, alleging that he had sexually assaulted her.
In May, CNN broadcast a video showing Combs physically assaulting Ventura, for which Combs later apologized.
Following the lawsuit filed by Ventura, sexual assault allegations against Combs continued to mount.
On March 25, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued search warrants for Combs's homes in Los Angeles and Miami and conducted raids on the properties.
