According to the report by Birsen Altuntaş, the Adana 15th Criminal Court of First Instance ruled for Burak Deniz's acquittal on the grounds that there was insufficient evidence to prove he had committed the crimes he was charged with.
The public prosecutor had alleged that Burak Deniz had publicly insulted and threatened Necmi Deniz in Adana, insulted Nilperi Şahinkaya, and attempted to punch Necmi. However, the court ruled that there was no definitive evidence that these crimes had been committed.
Nilperi Şahinkaya and her lawyer, Nail Gönenli, who attended the hearing via video link from Istanbul, plan to appeal the court's decision.
