1,300-year-old historical Torah seized in Kahramanmaraş

A Torah written on leather, estimated to be 1,300 years old, has been seized in Kahramanmaraş. Two suspects attempting to sell the historical artifact have been taken into custody.

A Torah written on leather, estimated to be 1,300 years old, was seized during an operation conducted by the gendarmerie in Kahramanmaraş.

Teams from the Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch took action following intelligence that 55-year-old F.K. and 49-year-old S.A.A. were attempting to sell a historical artifact in their possession.

OPERATION CONDUCTED

The two suspects, whose addresses were identified during the teams' investigation, were apprehended in an operation.

During the search of the suspects, the historical Torah, which is claimed to be 1,300 years old and written on leather, was seized.

F.K. and S.A.A., who were taken into custody, were brought to the police station for questioning.

TORAH TAKEN INTO PROTECTIVE CUSTODY

The historical Torah has been taken into protective custody.
