Coastal fishermen who went out to fish off the coast of the Keşap district in Giresun spotted a bear cub swimming in the sea about 2 miles offshore.

Realizing that the bear, which they had been following for a while, was exhausted and on the verge of drowning, the fishermen caught it with their nets, brought it onto their boat, and took it to the shore. The fishermen then handed the bear over to officials from the Provincial Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks.
