Following the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu on March 23, whose university diploma was cancelled and who was detained in a dawn operation on the morning of March 19, protest demonstrations were held across the country.
While boycott calls that began after the protests continue, artists are also continuing to voice their reactions.
Duman lead singer Kaan Tangöze became a trending topic with his remarks during his concert last night (April 5).
Criticizing the government, Tangöze said, "This is the state they have brought the republic that Atatürk left us, friends. Is it Saddam's Iraq? Is it Assad's Syria? We just couldn't understand, was this country like this?"
"ESPRESSOLAB" REFERENCE
On the other hand, Tangöze's remark, "I am currently sipping my vodka orange that I bought from Espressolab, friends," while making a reference to Espressolab, which is on the boycott list, also made the audience smile.
