WHAT IS THE 2025 FITRA AMOUNT?
The High Board of Religious Affairs has set the fitra (charity) amount for the period from Ramadan 2025 to Ramadan 2026 at 180 TL.
The statement made by the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) is as follows:
In the statement issued by the Board, it was noted that the matter of determining the fitra amount for the month of Ramadan 2025 was discussed at a meeting chaired by Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Haçkalı. The following statements were recorded in the announcement:
“Taking into account the relevant hadiths, current socio-economic living conditions, and an individual's daily food needs, the fitra amount in our country has been determined as 180 TL for the period from the month of Ramadan 2025 to the month of Ramadan 2026. The amount determined as fitra can be given in cash or in kind through food items. This determined sum is also the daily cost of fidyah (expiation for missed fasts). In addition, every taxpayer may give an amount equivalent to their own daily food expenditure as fitra.”

The month of Ramadan will begin on Saturday, March 1, 2025. The first suhoor will be held on the night connecting February 28 to March 1.
