WHO WAS ALİ ÖZGENTÜRK?

Having studied philosophy and sociology at Istanbul University, Özgentürk began his cinema career in 1974 as a camera assistant. He worked as an assistant alongside master directors such as Yılmaz Güney and Atıf Yılmaz. He gained recognition and won numerous awards with his first feature film, Hazal, which he directed in 1979. Later, he achieved significant success both nationally and internationally with films such as The Horse (1981), The Guard (1985), Water Also Burns (1987), The Naked (1993), and The Letter (1997).
