WILL BRIDGES AND ROADS BE FREE DURING THE HOLIDAY?

No official announcement has been made yet regarding whether bridges and highways will be free during the Ramadan Feast. However, it is expected that free passage will be announced for this holiday as it has been in previous years.

In the decision published in the Official Gazette during the last Eid al-Adha, it was stated that passage through roads under the responsibility of the General Directorate of Highways (KGM), as well as the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, would be free. However, projects carried out under the build-operate-transfer model were excluded from this practice.

Urban public transport services are also generally provided free of charge during holidays. During the 2024 Eid al-Adha, Başkentray, Marmaray, İZBAN, the Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme Rail System Line, the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy metro line, and public transport vehicles affiliated with municipalities provided free service.
