Yemeksepeti and Getir founders clash: 'You burned through 2 billion dollars'

Yemeksepeti founder Nevzat Aydın took a jab at Getir founder Nazım Salur over a sponsorship issue. Responding to Aydın, Getir founder Salur replied, "Nevzat, why don't you find yourself a job and make that your agenda. There is no debt. The news is baseless. You seem so happy whenever you see something negative about Getir."

The founder of the famous food delivery site Yemeksepeti, Nevzat Aydın, and Getir CEO Nazım Salur have clashed on social media.

The British news site Sky News claimed that Getir, which withdrew from the UK, owes approximately 5 million pounds to the Tottenham Hotspur club, with which it had signed a three-year sponsorship deal. However, the company stated that they do not have any debt to the club, declaring, "Our company has no debt to the club from the sponsorship agreement made with Tottenham Hotspur."

Yemeksepeti founder Aydın shared the news in question with the message, "Unpleasant. It seems Getir, which became the training sponsor and signed a 3-year deal, owes 5M pounds to Tottenham. As Turks, we have even permeated the Premier League."

"FIND YOURSELF A JOB..."

Salur responded to Aydın's post by saying, "Nevzat, why don't you find yourself a job and make that your agenda. There is no debt. The news is baseless. You seem so happy whenever you see something negative about Getir. There should be a limit to envy as well."

 

Nevzat Aydın gave the following reply to this message:

"I am quite busy in my own right, thanks. I think you are quite a flash topic regarding the sector I am in - the Turkish internet ecosystem. I haven't even written a small fraction of what I've heard or known, Nazım. You burned through 2 billion dollars, and you can't handle two of my posts? You mentioned envy; I didn't really understand what I would be envious of?" 

Yemeksepeti, which Nevzat Aydın was the founding CEO of and which has been operating since 2001, was acquired by Delivery Hero for 589 million dollars in 2015. Aydın stepped down from his CEO position on November 1, 2021.

The two had also clashed back in 2015, the year the Getir firm entered the market.
