Yıldız Tilbe: I always carry black cumin on me

Singer Yıldız Tilbe, stating that she strongly believes in the evil eye, recounted an accident she had as a child. Tilbe said, "That is why I believe in the evil eye so much. I always carry black cumin on me. Because they say the evil eye does not touch anyone who carries black cumin."

Yıldız Tilbe was a guest on the program "Gel Konuşalım" (Let's Talk) broadcast on TV8. Speaking about her family and past on the program, Tilbe said she was the youngest of six siblings.

Frequently making headlines with her songs and statements, Yıldız Tilbe made a striking confession about her childhood years while appearing on the Gel Konuşalım program.

Tilbe said that a severe accident she had at a young age left deep marks on her life.

"MY SIBLINGS COULD NOT RECOGNIZE ME"

Stating that she was the youngest of 6 siblings in her family, Tilbe recounted the incident with these words:

“Everyone who saw me would say, ‘what a beautiful child.’ One day, someone who gave me the evil eye came over as a guest. I was small, and I pulled a teapot full of boiling tea on a gas stove onto myself and got burned. I stayed in the hospital for 6 months; when my siblings came to visit, they couldn’t recognize me.”

Tilbe said, “That is why I believe in the evil eye so much. I always carry black cumin on me. Because they say the evil eye does not touch anyone who carries black cumin.”

Explaining that her only regret about the past was marriage, the successful artist Tilbe said, “I would never have married until I was 35-40 years old.” Reminding that she has a daughter and two grandchildren, the artist stated, “I wanted my daughter to have her own life, that is why I did not bring her on screen.”
