On the last day of 2024, the 15 July Martyrs Bus Terminal remained empty. At the bus terminal, where trips are made to all 81 provinces of Turkey, the number of departures dropped by half compared to normal times. Travel company officials also stated that there was not much activity this New Year's Eve.

Rahman Taş, who said he was going to visit a friend in Bursa, said, "I normally study at university here; I am going to Bursa to visit my friend and spend New Year's Eve there. The year 2024 passed with sadness and grief. We will see if 2025 will be better in terms of university and life."

"TRIPS WERE CANCELLED"

Bus driver Fikret Yıldırım said, "Compared to previous years, there is no activity at all this New Year's Eve. As you can see, most trips were cancelled. There is no such demand. I don't know if it is due to the financial means of the citizens, but there is no demand at all this year. We only dispatched a total of 6 buses."

"RETURN TRIPS WILL START AFTER TOMORROW"

A company official also stated, "Generally, trips decrease every New Year's Eve; there are no passengers, and most companies cancel them. Some people leave a day before, but on New Year's Eve, there is no one; it is quiet. Return trips will start after tomorrow," he said.
