16-year-old boy dies in knife attack in Büyükçekmece: Suspects are 16 and 17 years old

In a fight that broke out in Büyükçekmece, 16-year-old A.D. was stabbed to death. Police, who launched an investigation into the incident, detained two children aged 16 and 17 involved in the fight.

The incident occurred in the Muratçeşme neighborhood of Büyükçekmece district. A fight broke out between four children for reasons yet to be determined.

As the argument escalated, E.B. (16) and M.A.D. (17) attacked children named A.D. (16) and S.I. (15) with knives they were carrying.

The two children, left covered in blood from the knife wounds, collapsed to the ground, while the attackers fled the scene.

Upon notification by bystanders, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

Following initial intervention by the teams at the scene, A.D. and S.I. were taken to the hospital with injuries. Despite medical efforts at the hospital, 16-year-old A.D. lost his life. The treatment of 15-year-old S.I. is ongoing.

Attackers detained

Following work carried out by the Istanbul Police Department, the attackers E.B. (16) and M.A.D. (17) were apprehended in a short time along with the knives used in the incident. After the investigation was conducted, the two children were referred to judicial authorities and were arrested and sent to prison.
