The case of Naciye A., who had been sought as a missing person since 2008, has been resolved after being reopened by police teams.
As a result of the investigations, it was determined that the incident was a premeditated murder.
The investigation was deepened following the assessment that Naciye A., who was reported missing in the Koçarlı district of Aydın on July 12, 2008, was murdered in the Karabağlar district of İzmir that same year and her body was left in the Torbalı district.
Under the coordination of the Torbalı Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and with the support of the İzmir Provincial Police Department's Public Security Branch Missing Persons Bureau, the Crime Analysis Bureau, the Aydın Provincial Police Department, and intelligence units, comprehensive efforts were carried out to identify the suspects connected to the incident. Following technical and physical surveillance, communication tracking, field research, and the evaluation of evidence, 7 suspects were apprehended in simultaneous operations centered in İzmir, with support from Istanbul and Aydın.
In a statement regarding the incident, the Ministry of Interior said, "As a result of the meticulous work of our police teams, we continue to shed light on crimes committed years ago and deliver criminals to justice. We congratulate our heroic police officers, our İzmir and Aydın Provincial Police Departments, our Torbalı Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and all those who contributed."
