1919-meter-long Turkish flag in Samsun
The May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in Samsun. Thousands of people gathered during the Torchlight Procession and Youth Week March, accompanied by a 1919-meter-long Turkish flag.

In an event organized by the Samsun Governorship and the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, a group gathered at Uğur Mumcu Park and marched with lanterns and Turkish flags in their hands.

During the march, a 1919-meter-long Turkish flag was unfurled by scouts and participants.
The march, where anthems were sung accompanied by a band, ended at Cumhuriyet Square.
There, a musical performance was presented to the participants by the Field Medical School and Training Center Regional Band Command.
The program was attended by Governor Orhan Tavlı, Chairman of the TBMM Plan and Budget Committee and AKP Samsun Deputy Mehmet Muş, AKP Deputy Chairman and Samsun Deputy Çiğdem Karaaslan, AKP Samsun Deputies Orhan Kırcalı and Ersan Aksu, Garrison Commander Veteran Major General Davut Ala, Metropolitan Mayor Halit Doğan, and citizens.
