2 semi-trucks and 1 pickup truck collide on Northern Marmara Motorway

A chain-reaction accident involving 2 semi-trucks and 1 pickup truck occurred on the Northern Marmara Motorway near Beykoz. 3 people were injured in the accident.

The accident occurred at around 20:00 on the Ankara-bound direction of the Northern Marmara Motorway in Istanbul, near Beykoz. According to allegations, the driver of a semi-truck with license plate 27 V 6833, whose name has not yet been identified, braked suddenly after a car cut in front of them. 

Following the sudden braking, the semi-truck with license plate 34 VJ 1272, driven by Murat Y., could not stop in time and rear-ended the vehicle. The pickup truck with license plate 34 FA 5001, driven by Bahri T., failed to notice the accident and crashed into the back of the semi-trucks.

In the accident, the driver of the semi-truck, Murat Y., was slightly injured, while the pickup truck driver, Bahri T., and his passenger, Selim H., were trapped in the vehicle. Other drivers in the vicinity notified the police and medical teams. 

"THE DRIVER IS SERIOUSLY INJURED"

Upon notification, fire, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The fire department teams arriving at the scene extracted Bahri T. and Selim H., who were trapped in the pickup truck, and handed them over to the ambulance crews. While the injured were taken to the hospital by medical teams, the police launched an investigation into the accident.

Murat Öztaş, who helped the injured after the accident, said, "We provided the first response. There are 3 injured people. We didn't see the accident happen; we intervened 2-3 minutes later. The person behind the wheel is seriously injured."
