29 more workers have been dismissed at Üsküdar Municipality. According to information obtained, the workers were notified of their termination after the end of the workday on Friday, October 2.

It was stated that the majority of the dismissed employees worked in cleaning services and field units, and that the group included drivers, cleaning staff, field workers, and members of the communications team.

It was learned that the primary reason cited for the terminations was "insufficient performance." It was noted that all of those dismissed were workers hired during the term of Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş, who was suspended from office.

Two weeks ago, 27 employees were laid off after the municipality's administration passed to the AKP. With the latest decisions, the total number of dismissed workers has reached 56.

It was reported that during the hours when the dismissals were taking place, Üsküdar Deputy Mayor Dündar Ziya Gültekin shared a photograph of his meeting with President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The photograph shared regarding Dündar Ziya Gültekin's meeting with Erdoğan.

The deputy mayoral process in Üsküdar had been the scene of controversial developments following the arrest and suspension of Dedetaş. In the election held on August 5, CHP member Sibel Tan Çetinkaya won the deputy mayoralty, but the election was canceled by a court decision following a criminal complaint by the AKP.

Before the new election, CHP council members Ahmet Başbaydar, Ayhan Aydın, Hüseyin Kazan, and Tahsin Usta joined the AKP group. Following this development, AKP member Dündar Ziya Gültekin was elected Deputy Mayor of Üsküdar in the vote held on September 8.
