33 students and 1 teacher hospitalized after lunch at private school

In Burdur, 33 students and 1 teacher at a private school were hospitalized yesterday following lunch after experiencing various symptoms. While 30 students and 1 teacher have been discharged after completing their treatment, it was reported that 3 students remain under medical care.

The incident occurred yesterday at a private school in Burdur. According to allegations, 33 students and 1 teacher fell ill after eating lunch. Those suffering from symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and fever arrived at Burdur State Hospital by their own means to receive treatment.

While 30 students and 1 teacher were discharged following their treatment, it was reported that 3 students remain under care. Teams have collected samples from the food and water served at the school to investigate the cause of the illness.

In a statement regarding the matter, the Burdur Governor's Office said, "On November 27, 2025, 33 students and 1 teacher attending a private educational institution operating in our province presented to Burdur State Hospital at various intervals in the evening hours with suspected food poisoning and complaints of vomiting.

Following examinations at the hospital, 1 teacher and 30 students were discharged after receiving outpatient treatment, while 3 students continue to receive treatment at Burdur State Hospital; they are not in life-threatening condition. A judicial and administrative investigation has been launched into the incident. We extend our best wishes for a speedy recovery to the teacher and students affected by the incident."
