43 students hospitalized at a middle school in Burdur

In the Karamanlı district of Burdur, 43 students were hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning after eating chicken doner and ayran. A statement regarding the incident was issued by the Governor's Office.

The incident occurred at a middle school in the Karamanlı district of Burdur at around 14:00. According to the information obtained, after 4 students who ate the chicken doner and ayran served for lunch at the school began vomiting and 6 others complained of nausea, teachers reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center on suspicion of food poisoning.

HOSPITAL CROWDED

Upon the report, numerous ambulances were dispatched to the school. While the medical teams arriving at the school initially transported 10 students to Karamanlı State Hospital by ambulance, 33 students were brought to the hospital by their families as a precaution. Due to the density at the hospital, 5 students were transferred from there to Tefenni State Hospital.

BURDUR GOVERNOR'S OFFICE ISSUED A STATEMENT

The statement made by the Burdur Governor's Office included the following:

"Following the complaints of vomiting from 4 students and nausea from 6 students who ate lunch at a school in the Karamanlı district, a total of 43 students, including 33 for observation, were transferred to Karamanlı State Hospital as a precaution. Due to the density, 5 students were transferred to Tefenni State Hospital, located 7 km away. The general health condition of our students is good, and discharge procedures have begun. Witness samples have been taken from the food by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry teams for examination, and the judicial and administrative investigation is ongoing."
