78-year-old man kills 48-year-old son over land dispute

In the Ödemiş district of İzmir, a 78-year-old man shot and killed his 48-year-old son with a shotgun due to a land dispute. The father, Güllü, has been taken into custody, and proceedings at the gendarmerie are ongoing.

In the Yeniceköy neighborhood, a father, İsa Güllü (78), who lived on the ground floor of a detached house, and his son, Mehmet Güllü (48), who lived on the upper floor, argued over a land dispute.

Following the argument, the father, Güllü, shot his son on the upper floor with a shotgun he took from his home.

Upon reports from neighbors, 112 Emergency Health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene.

The teams determined that Mehmet Güllü had lost his life. The father, Güllü, who was taken into custody, is currently undergoing processing at the gendarmerie.

It was learned that Mehmet Güllü, whose body was taken to the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy, was married and had 3 children.
