İsmail Kahraman, member of the Presidential High Advisory Board (YİK) and the 27th Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), inspected the ongoing construction of the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Mosque on the coastal landfill area in his hometown of Rize, where he arrived for a series of visits. Kahraman was accompanied by Rize Governor İhsan Selim Baydaş, Rize Mayor Rahmi Metin, Mufti Naci Çakmakçı, ÇAYKUR General Manager Yusuf Ziya Alim, Rize Commodity Exchange President Mehmet Erdoğan, and other protocol members. Kahraman and his delegation received information from the contractor firm officials regarding the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Mosque, which is being built within the Millet Bahçesi (Nation's Garden).

Emphasizing that not only the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Mosque but many other works have been brought to Rize, Kahraman said, "May God be pleased with everyone who contributed. The name of our mosque was previously determined as the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Mosque in line with the wishes of our people. May God grant our President many more years of service. He has brought mosques and works to every corner of Turkey, alongside many other projects. Our Rize has also gained a central mosque. It is an extraordinary work with high capacity and beautiful infrastructure facilities. It will add even more beauty to the beauty of our Rize. I express my gratitude to those who contributed. May the Almighty grant many more services. Our Rize has attained extraordinary works in a very short time. I am from Rize, from İkizdere. When I used to leave here, the coast was at the very bottom. Now I look, we are far beyond European cities; there are all kinds of facilities. In terms of investments made in cities according to national income, Rize has received investments comparable to or even more than Istanbul, based on population and national income. There is a great benefit in our President being our fellow townsman. He has treated not only Rize but all of Turkey in the same way. Our country has developed. When we look at political history, we see that such development is rare. I can say that in 20 years, work has been done that could only be accomplished in two centuries; it is work that transcends a century. May there be many more beautiful works."

"It is wrong to ignore what has been done by engaging in political polemics"

Stating that naming a mosque built in Rize, the hometown of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, after him was a fait accompli, Kahraman said, "Look, it is a duty to keep the names of those who have set great examples alive through works in the places where they were born. We see that there has been a lot of laziness in fulfilling this duty, both in Istanbul and in our Rize.

The airport is Tayyip Bey's work; these sidewalks and the transformation of this city are his works. It was like a fait accompli, but we have conveyed the public's demand. I would like to reiterate this demand with the following; there is also a mosque in Istanbul. The mosque built in Çamlıca, I always call it the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Mosque. We have mosques like Beyazıt, Fatih, Süleymaniye, and Selimiye in Istanbul. There will also be a Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Mosque there.

Investment in every field, development in every field. They say, 'A candle does not light its own base.' We are not aware of the developments. Yet, great developments have taken place. And I believe this; when world political history is written, when the history of the Republic of Turkey is discussed, the name at the top of the list will be Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

We are very pleased with him, may God be pleased with him as well. May He be pleased with those who raised him, and may He be pleased with all our people who contributed.

It is a wrong phenomenon to ignore what has been done by engaging in political polemics. Skill is subject to appreciation. Let us make the necessary assessment. We are in a very good situation, and we will be in an even better one," he said.
