Attacker who stabbed 3 people in Ankara neutralized by gunfire: The moment caught on camera

An attacker who wounded 3 people with a knife in Ankara was neutralized by being shot by police teams following extensive efforts.

In the Kızılcahamam district of Ankara, an attacker identified as U.Y. wounded 3 people on Soğuksu Street.

POLICE ARRIVED AT THE SCENE UPON NOTIFICATION

Following reports from citizens, numerous police teams were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, police teams attempted to calm U.Y. down; however, despite all warnings from the police, the attacker continued his aggressive behavior and turned his attention toward the police officers.

WARNING SHOTS FIRED INTO THE AIR FIRST

Police officers first fired warning shots into the air to stop the attacker, but this was not enough to stop U.Y. As the attack intensified, the police neutralized U.Y. by shooting him in the right hip. The moment of the shooting was captured on a mobile phone camera.

 

The wounded attacker was quickly rushed to the hospital for emergency intervention. U.Y., who is receiving treatment under observation, will be referred to court once the necessary judicial procedures are completed.
