According to allegations, an individual who identified himself as a student's parent entered the school through the gate at noon. The person, who drew attention with his suspicious behavior, was quickly noticed and neutralized by the police officer on duty at the school.
STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE REGARDING THE INCIDENT
The Şanlıurfa Governor's Office clarified the injury claims circulating on social media and some news websites. In the written statement, it was stated: "A statement has become necessary following reports on news sites and social media claiming that one of our teachers was injured as a result of an attack directed at them in a middle school in our Siverek district. Today, around 12:40 PM, an individual who came to Dumlupınar Middle School in Siverek, declared that they were a student's parent, and exhibited suspicious behavior was neutralized by our police officer present at the school. There is no injury involved."
According to information obtained from sources, Siverek District Governor Salih Sak and some parents arrived at the school after the incident to receive detailed information from the authorities. While security measures were increased at the school following the incident, an investigation has been launched into the individual who attempted the attack.
