Bağımsız Maden-İş executives detained

On the 8th day of worker protests at the Polyak Coal Mine in Kınık, İzmir, Bağımsız Maden-İş Union Chairman Gökay Çakır and three union executives were detained under prosecutor's orders.

As worker protests continue at the Polyak Coal Mine, executives from the Bağımsız Maden-İş Union have been detained. 

In a statement released on the union's social media account, it was announced that on the 8th day of the resistance, Chairman Gökay Çakır, union expert Başaran Aksu, and headquarters executives Volkan Çetin and Öncü Çetin were detained by the gendarmerie under instructions from the prosecutor's office.

The statement expressed opposition to the detentions, demanding that "those detained be released immediately."
