Balcony of CHP party building collapses during election celebration

In the Tavas district of Denizli, a large number of party members were injured after a balcony at the CHP district headquarters collapsed while they were celebrating the unofficial election results.

According to the unofficial results of the 2024 Local Administration General Elections, CHP mayoral candidate Kadir Tatık finished the race in the lead in the Tavas district of Denizli.

After the unofficial results began to emerge, many party members gathered in front of the party building located on Karağolanoğlu Street in the Yeni neighborhood of Tavas to celebrate the election victory.

In addition to the celebrations continuing on the street, a large group that went up to the party building on the second floor filled the district building's two balconies.

As the celebrations continued with enthusiasm, one of the balconies, unable to bear the weight any longer, collapsed along with those on it.

As a result of the balcony collapse, a large number of party members on the street and on the balcony were injured. Upon notification, numerous ambulances were dispatched to the area. The area around the balcony, where the collapse occurred, has been cordoned off for security.
