Bus carrying tourist group turns into a fireball

A fire broke out in the engine of a bus carrying tourists in Bursa. The driver pulled the vehicle over to the emergency lane and evacuated 35 Saudi Arabian tourists before the bus turned into a fireball and was reduced to ashes. No one was injured in the incident, and the bus, which was engulfed in flames, was removed from the scene with the help of a crane.

The incident occurred around 21:30 in Bursa, near the Gemlik Viaduct on the Gebze-Orhangazi-Izmir Highway. According to the information obtained, smoke suddenly began to rise from the engine of the passenger bus with license plate 34 BU 6728, driven by I.Ç. (41), which was traveling from the direction of Bursa towards Istanbul and carrying a group of 35 tourists.

EVACUATED 35 PASSENGERS

Noticing the smoke, the driver pulled the bus into the emergency lane. Opening the doors of the bus, the driver evacuated the 35 Saudi tourists. Shortly after, the bus turned into a fireball. Upon notification, gendarmerie and fire department teams were dispatched to the scene. While the gendarmerie teams closed the road for a while due to the fire, the blaze was extinguished with the intervention of the fire department teams. With the bus extinguished, traffic was reopened in a controlled manner. No one was injured in the incident, and the bus, which was engulfed in flames, was removed from the scene with the help of a crane.

The gendarmerie teams have launched an investigation into the incident.
