Camping ban imposed in Bartın to prevent forest fires

The Bartın Governor's Office has announced that a series of measures have been taken to prevent forest fires and ensure the safety of citizens with the onset of the summer months. In this context, pitching tents and camping outside of designated camping areas have been prohibited.

The statement indicated that lighting barbecues and fires in public areas such as forested areas, coastlines, and beaches is also banned. Furthermore, it was stated that the use of flammable materials such as fireworks and wish lanterns at events like weddings held in forested areas is prohibited.

The Governor's Office stated that the Forest Management Directorate will increase its inspections using KGYS (City Security Management System), patrols, drones, and camera traps to prevent forest fires. It was emphasized that loud music and actions that disturb the environment on beaches and in common areas used by the public will be prevented. It was reported that activities such as nature hikes will only be permitted on designated routes, and administrative fines will be imposed otherwise.

It was announced that overnight stays for accommodation purposes on beaches, sidewalks, roads, and in vehicle beds outside of camping, caravan, and tent areas designated by the authorities in coastal regions are prohibited. It was stated that criminal proceedings will be initiated against those who do not comply with the bans under the Forest Law, the Provincial Administration Law, and the Misdemeanors Law.
