Caught with a handgun, he pleaded, 'Forgive me this one time'
In Aksaray, a driver caught by police with a handgun for which he held only a possession permit pleaded with officers for a long time, saying, 'Forgive me this one time,' to avoid legal action, and even complained about his seat in the police vehicle while being taken to the station.

The incident occurred on Kültür Park Street in the Büyük Bölcek neighborhood. According to the information obtained, teams from the Provincial Police Department's Public Security Branch, who were conducting a security check on the street, stopped a pickup truck with the license plate 68 ADH 034 on suspicion.
During the license and registration check, night watchmen and police teams, acting under the coordination of the Aksaray Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, searched the vehicle of the driver, A.G. (22), and found a handgun. Stating that the handgun was licensed, A.G. took his permit out of his wallet and handed the "Firearm Possession Permit" to the teams.
The teams determined that while the handgun was licensed, it was a possession permit and not a carry permit, and informed the driver that a handgun with a possession permit could not be carried, intending to initiate legal proceedings. At this point, the driver, A.G., pleaded with the police teams for a long time, asking them not to take action.
Claiming he had taken the gun to oil it, the driver A.G. said, "Commissioner, I just left the shop. I cleaned my weapon, the oil is still on it. I clean the weapon at the shop. Because the oil and everything are at the shop. Commissioner, please don't do this, forgive me this one time, it won't happen again. You are right, I have no objections. You can check my record, you can check the weapon. My only issue is that I cleaned it and am taking it home."
Although he pleaded for a long time, the driver could not avoid the proceedings and was invited into the police car to be taken to the police station for his statement to be taken and for legal action to be initiated. The driver, who did not like the seat he was assigned in the police car, pleaded for a long time to change his seat this time. Unable to avoid this either, the driver was placed in the back of the police car and taken to the police station for legal processing and to have his statement taken.
