Ceiling of prefab structure housing workers collapses: 15 injured

In Sakarya, 15 workers were slightly injured after the ceiling of a prefabricated structure housing workers at the ongoing construction site of a 1,000-bed city hospital collapsed.

The ceiling of a prefabricated structure housing workers at the ongoing construction site of a 1,000-bed city hospital in the Alandüzü neighborhood of Sakarya's Adapazarı district has collapsed.

Upon notification of the incident, numerous fire, police, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the area. While 15 workers were slightly injured in the incident, the Sakarya Governor's Office issued a statement regarding the matter.

The statement read, “As a result of the collapse of a metal part on the ceiling of the prefabricated building where workers stay at the construction site of the 1,000-bed hospital currently under construction in Korucuk, 15 of our citizens were slightly injured and were transferred to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

With the exception of 2 of our injured citizens, the treatment of the others is continuing on an outpatient basis” the statement said.
