Child who went missing in Antalya found in Adana
An 11-year-old child who went missing after telling his family he was going to the restroom at their home in the Aksu district of Antalya was found by a shopkeeper in Adana, approximately 600 kilometers away. The shopkeeper who found the child said, "When I arrived to open my shop, I saw him hiding by a car. I noticed him as I was going to open the shop and invited him inside. I reported it to 112 and handed the child over to the police."

A.B. (11), a 5th-grade student living in the Murtuna neighborhood of the Aksu district, told his mother he was going to the restroom while they were working in a greenhouse with his family on Monday, January 26, and went home.
After taking his coat, the child left the house and was not heard from again. The family filed a missing person report with the police. In addition to police teams, AFAD, the Red Helmets Search and Rescue Association, and citizens launched search efforts in the area to find the child.
No traces were found during searches in wooded areas, water wells, and fields. While the teams' search efforts were ongoing, news that gave the family hope came from Adana. Police determined that A.B. was last seen on cameras at the Adana Bus Terminal.
Shopkeeper Ömer Özkan, who had seen reports about the missing child, found him on Vefa Street in the Fevzipaşa neighborhood of the Seyhan district, located just behind the bus terminal. The shopkeeper handed the child over to teams from the Provincial Police Department's Child Protection Bureau. It was learned that the police also informed the family.
"He was hiding by the car"
Providing information about finding the missing A.B., shopkeeper Ömer Özkan said, "When I arrived to open my shop, I saw him sitting by the side of a car. He was hiding. Since I had seen him in the news before, his face looked somewhat familiar to me. To be sure, I invited him inside. I did a quick search on the internet and realized he was the missing child. Upon that, I immediately notified the 112 Emergency Call Center. Thank goodness, the teams arrived right away," he said.
Özkan added, "There were no issues with the child's health. We handed him over to the Child Protection Bureau teams. There were no problems or difficulties. His family called me later to thank me. We did our civic duty; we did it for the sake of God," he said.
