Child playing with gun at home shoots himself
In Konya, a 16-year-old high school student accidentally shot himself while playing with his father's handgun.

The incident occurred around 18:00 in Okul Street, Çaybaşı Neighborhood, in the central Meram district.
According to the information obtained, 16-year-old high school student O.K.E. accidentally shot himself in the chin while playing with his father's licensed handgun at their home on the 3rd floor of a 12-story apartment building.
NO LIFE-THREATENING INJURIES
Upon the notification of relatives who were at home, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
Following the initial intervention by medical teams at the scene, the child was taken by ambulance to the Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.
It was learned that O.K.E., who was taken under treatment there, does not have life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
