Obscenity operation by Cyber Crimes police

Police teams conducted simultaneous operations against obscenity in 13 provinces, centered in Samsun, resulting in the detention of 42 individuals.

According to the information obtained, under the coordination of the Samsun Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Samsun Police Department's Cyber Crimes Branch conducted an operation against obscenity on June 24 in 13 provinces, centered in Samsun.

Police launched an investigation following an email tip-off regarding a Telegram group received by the General Directorate of Security's Cyber Crimes Department.

Legal proceedings were initiated against 48 suspects identified as selling, purchasing, and storing obscene content.

Samsun Cyber Crimes Branch teams detained 42 people in the simultaneous operation carried out in 13 provinces. While 19 individuals were released by the police after giving their statements, 12 people whose police questioning was completed were referred to the Samsun Courthouse today.

Two people who gave statements to the duty magistrate were arrested and sent to the Samsun T-Type Closed Prison, while 10 people were released by the court under judicial control conditions.

It was learned that the police processing of the 11 other individuals detained as part of the operation is ongoing.
