Death toll rises to 3 in IETT bus accident in Zeytinburnu

The death toll from the IETT bus accident that occurred on August 28 in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, has increased. Fatma Hacer Eroğlu, who was critically injured when the bus traveling in the direction of Bakırköy on Kennedy Street crashed into the garden wall of a residential complex, could not be saved despite the interventions of doctors at the hospital where she was being treated.
With the passing of Eroğlu, the number of people who lost their lives in the accident has risen to 3. According to initial reports, 2 people died at the scene of the accident, and 15 people were injured. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals and placed under treatment.
It was learned that 6 of the injured were discharged after completing their treatment, and that one of the patients in critical condition was Eroğlu.
While the investigation into the accident continues, security camera footage of the moment of the incident had also emerged. In the footage, it was seen that a car traveling in the same direction maneuvered in front of the bus to change lanes; upon this, the bus veered to the right, went off the road, and crashed into the garden wall of the residential complex.
It was reported that the driver of the car, who is believed to have made the maneuver that caused the accident, has been arrested as part of the investigation.
