Demonstrations and marches banned for 7 days in Mardin
The Mardin Governor's Office has announced that events such as meetings, press statements, and protest marches have been banned across the province for 7 days.

In a statement issued by the Governor's Office, it was stated: "In order to protect the fundamental characteristics of the Republic, the indivisible integrity of the state with its territory and nation, national security, public order, the prevention of crime, and the protection of the rights and freedoms of others, as well as to prevent potential provocations and possible social incidents, all gatherings, marches, press statements, hunger strikes, sit-ins, vigils, rallies, setting up stands, erecting tents, distributing leaflets or brochures, and hanging posters or banners in open areas, as well as the entry of individuals and vehicles identified as arriving to participate in such actions from other provinces into our provincial borders, are prohibited within the borders of Mardin province (including the city center, districts, and all police and gendarmerie responsibility zones) for a period of 7 days, from 08:00 on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, to 23:59 on Monday, June 10, 2024, pursuant to Articles 17 and 19 of the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911 and Article 11 of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442, excluding events deemed appropriate by the Governor's and District Governor's offices."
