On the first day of Eid al-Adha, Manisa Metropolitan Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek suffered a serious accident after being electrocuted in the machine room of the pool at his home.

Zeyrek, whose heart stopped following the incident, was taken to the hospital, and it has been reported that his condition is improving.

CHP Deputy Chairman Erhan Erdem explained how the accident occurred in a statement he made in Manisa.

Speaking to Halktv, Erdem stated that Zeyrek had entered the machine room to check a malfunction and slipped and fell there. Zeyrek's wife, Nurcan, who was also exposed to the electric current, heard the noise, immediately went downstairs, turned off the circuit breakers, and checked her husband's pulse.

Realizing that there was no pulse, Nurcan immediately called Zeyrek's childhood friend, Emre.

Emre arrived at the house in a short time and began performing CPR. Meanwhile, municipal police and fire department teams arrived at the scene. With the arrival of the ambulance, Zeyrek was taken to the hospital.

Zeyrek's heart, which started beating again during the initial intervention, worsened again and stopped once more. As a result of the interventions, his heart began to beat again after approximately 70 minutes.

Erhan Erdem emphasized that Zeyrek is a benevolent and helpful person, stating that this miraculous recovery occurred thanks to his kind-hearted personality.
