Ex-boyfriend first tried to strangle her, then stabbed her: She sustained 10 separate injuries
In the Tarsus district of Mersin, a young woman who was lured into a side street by her ex-boyfriend under the pretext of meeting was first nearly strangled with a cable and then stabbed multiple times. The woman, who sustained 10 separate injuries, filed a police complaint after regaining consciousness in the hospital.

According to the information obtained, the incident took place on March 4, 2026, in the Akşemsettin neighborhood. Nurşen Ü. (19) met with her ex-boyfriend, S.Y., with whom she had broken up some time ago but was in the process of reconciling.
Allegedly, S.Y., who led the young woman into deserted side streets under the pretext of looking at a house, suddenly tried to strangle Nurşen Ü. from behind with a white phone charging cable.
Nurşen Ü., who put up a great struggle to escape the cable, was then subjected to a knife attack by the assailant. According to the information in her statement, the young woman collapsed in a pool of blood after receiving a total of 10 stab wounds to her abdomen, navel, left wrist, right groin, and back. The assailant also tried to steal the injured woman's phone, but fled the scene when he was unsuccessful.
Treated first in Tarsus, then in Mersin
Nurşen Ü., who was taken to Tarsus State Hospital with the help of local citizens, was transferred to Mersin University Faculty of Medicine Hospital due to the risk of infection after 5 days of treatment there. The young woman, who completed an intensive treatment process lasting about a week there and overcame the life-threatening danger, went to the police as soon as she was discharged and filed a complaint against the attacker.
In her statement to the Domestic Violence and Violence Against Women Investigation Bureau under the Tarsus Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Nurşen Ü. stated that the individual had attempted to kill her and said, "I am a plaintiff and complainant against S.Y."
While a comprehensive investigation into the incident continues, efforts to apprehend the suspect and follow the judicial process are ongoing.
