The incident took place recently at Doğa College in Kartal. According to allegations, the explosion occurred during a science experiment conducted for 6th-grade students.

6 students in the classroom were injured due to the explosion.

The injured students were taken to the Kartal Lütfi Kırdar City Hospital Burn Treatment Center. It was learned that the condition of the 2 students admitted to intensive care remains serious.

ALCOHOL BOTTLE SLIPPED FROM TEACHER'S HAND

Serdar Taşdöken, the father of Ömer Asaf Taşdöken, who is still receiving treatment in intensive care, said, "The school principal called us at 11:00 AM. He said there was a fire in the laboratory and that they had taken the children to the hospital.

The science teacher was conducting an experiment. He was using a spirit lamp and alcohol in that experiment. During the experiment, the alcohol bottle slipped from the teacher's hand and the fire flared up.

Because my son Ömer Asaf was in the front, the flaring fire burned his clothes; he has third-degree burns on his body. 25 percent of his body is burned. He has been in intensive care since yesterday," he said.

"THEY TOOK NO PRECAUTIONS REGARDING THE CHILDREN'S SAFETY"

Cemil Güzel, one of the parents of students in the same class, stated, "An explosion occurred in the laboratory while the experiment was being conducted. Our children are injured; we have gone through a major incident. There are no precautions in the experiment room. There is no fire extinguisher, no equipment to intervene in a fire.

The teachers extinguished the children using curtains. They take a fortune from us, yet no precautions have been taken regarding the children's safety.

How is this school granted a license? As parents, we are filing a complaint. Our children could have died there. The scale of the danger is immense. They are trying to cover up this incident. We will not let this go. My children's mental health has been affected. They have been crying since yesterday. They say, 'When I close my eyes, I think of my friend's wounds.' We want the state to intervene in this matter," he expressed.
