STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE REGARDING THE FIRE

The Istanbul Governor's Office announced that the fire, which broke out after an explosion in a 6-story building in Kağıthane thought to be caused by natural gas, was extinguished by firefighting teams and that 1 person was injured in the incident.

In the statement made by the Istanbul Governor's Office regarding the explosion that occurred on the second floor of a 6-story building in the Yahya Kemal neighborhood of Kağıthane, it was stated: "On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at approximately 22.00, an explosion occurred on the 2nd floor of a 6-story building located on Güler Street in the Yahya Kemal neighborhood of Kağıthane district.

Following the explosion, which is thought to be caused by natural gas, numerous fire and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

The fire caused by the explosion has been extinguished by the fire department, and 1 person injured in the incident has been taken to the hospital by medical teams for treatment.

The injured individual is not in life-threatening condition, and the cause of the explosion will be determined following an investigation."
