Fare dispute between public bus driver and retired passenger

In the Alanya district of Antalya, a fare dispute between a public bus driver and a female passenger who claimed to be retired was captured on the bus's security camera.

The driver, claiming he had been insulted, said, "It's not about the money. The card isn't scanning, get off," and threw the paper money in his hand to the floor.

The tension was calmed after other passengers intervened.

The incident occurred on May 2 on a public bus in the Oba neighborhood. According to the information obtained, a dispute arose between the public bus driver and an elderly female passenger who claimed to be retired regarding the transportation fare.

When the elderly woman's retirement card failed to scan upon boarding the bus, the driver demanded payment.

"IF YOUR CARD ISN'T SCANNING, YOU WILL PAY"

When the woman said she was retired, the driver said, "Okay ma'am, go sit in the back, give my aunt a seat." As the woman walked toward the back, she allegedly made insulting remarks. Angered by this, the driver demanded she get off the bus, saying, "I won't learn honor from you. There are a hundred people here paying.

If your card isn't scanning, you will pay. What does it mean to call someone dishonorable? You ride the bus for free every day. Don't be rude," he said, throwing the paper money in his hand and telling her, "Get off." The argument, which lasted for minutes, ended with the intervention of other passengers on the bus.

The moment of the argument was captured by a passenger's mobile phone camera and the vehicle's security camera. The footage shows the moments of the verbal altercation between the driver and the elderly female passenger after she boarded the bus.
