Father kills 20-year-old man for seeing his 16-year-old daughter

A 20-year-old man's body was found on the side of a road in the Gazipaşa district of Antalya. An investigation revealed that the young man had been stabbed to death, and that the murder was committed by a father because the victim was seeing his 16-year-old daughter. The suspect father was taken into custody at his home near the scene, while his daughter was taken to the police station to provide a statement. The knife believed to be the murder weapon was found in a location pointed out by the suspect father.

The incident occurred around 17:45 in the Özeğir locality of Gazipaşa's İnceğiz neighborhood. Following a report by a citizen who saw a person lying motionless on the ground next to a fire pool, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area. Upon reaching the scene, the teams identified the person on the ground as 20-year-old Yasin Erdem Bayır. Checks by health personnel confirmed that Bayır had lost his life, and it was learned that he had 13 stab wounds on his body.

Investigation conducted at the scene

Following the report, gendarmerie teams arrived in the area and took security measures, while crime scene investigation teams also conducted work. After the public prosecutor's examination at the scene, Bayır's body was taken to the Gazipaşa State Hospital morgue. It was reported that the body was sent to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy and to determine the exact cause of death.

JASAT deepens the investigation

As part of the investigation launched by the gendarmerie teams, a motorcycle without a license plate belonging to Bayır was also found at the scene. As a result of the work by the Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Team (JASAT), it was determined that Bayır was stabbed by Mustafa Ö., the father of 16-year-old B.Ö., because he was seeing the young girl. While Mustafa Ö. was taken into custody, his daughter B.Ö. was also taken to the gendarmerie station to provide a statement.

He pointed out the location of the knife himself

It was learned that during the investigation, Mustafa Ö. confessed to the incident in his statement and pointed out the location of the knife believed to have been used in the incident to the gendarmerie teams himself.

Searching the area indicated by Mustafa Ö., the teams found a knife under a rock in a wooded area approximately 500 meters below the scene. The knife was taken into custody by the gendarmerie teams and sent for examination. It was reported that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
