In Gaziantep, a father who approached his young daughter on a motorcycle, beat her, and dragged her by her hair has been taken into custody. The moments, which sparked outrage, were captured second by second on a security camera.

The incident occurred in the Mevlana neighborhood of the Şehitkamil district. According to allegations, an individual identified as M.K. approached his young daughter, Y.K., at high speed on his motorcycle and repeatedly beat her by slapping her in the middle of the street.
The suspect then moved the motorcycle, dragging his daughter behind him while holding her by her hair.
Those moments were captured second by second on a nearby security camera. While the footage, which spread rapidly on social media, caused public outrage, police teams took action and detained the father, M.K.
In a statement regarding the matter, the Gaziantep Governor's Office stated, "Following an investigation by our Police Department into the incident on June 06, 2026, in our province, where a young girl was beaten, it was determined that there were signs of battery on the body of the child named Y.K. Upon statements that her father, M.K., had subjected her and her siblings to violence, an investigation was initiated, and the suspect was taken into custody in accordance with the instructions received from the prosecutor."
